Cryptocurrencies are the future of transactions. This seems inevitable due to the convinience it provides and transactions occur without any middleman involved. No country owns any particular cryptocurrency. The most common and familiar of them all is bitcoin. Think of the US Dollar of cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is explained in detail by several websites (Wikipedia, CNNMoney, CoinDesk with referrences at the bottom of this page) and I do not want to create redundancies in that aspect. Its creator is as cryptic as his invention -- Satoshi Nakamoto. Very little is known about him (or her).

Bitcoins, like any other cryptocurrency, are stored in a wallet. If you don't have a wallet yet, you may open one at CoinBase or exchange Altcoins in Binance. Or if you are in the Philippines, like me, there are two choices -- coins.ph or buybitcoin.ph.
